Its name evokes the typical vegetation of the Mediterranean scrub, in particular the DOC area of Rosso Conero, where it originates.
At sight it is colorless, bright;
on the nose it releases definite aromas of undergrowth, in particular wild strawberries and blackberries, consistent with the characteristics of the vine and typical of the production area;
The taste is soft and full, with varietal retro-olfactory hints.
Vineyards Wine-growing region: Marche, province of Ancona.
Location: in the DOC area of Rosso Cònero, on the slopes of the promontory of the same name. Age: 8-30 years.
Soil: medium-textured, fairly balanced composition of sand, clay and silt, with a prevalence of limestone.
Exposure and altitude: near the sea, in a protected position from the north at average altitudes of 130-200 meters. s.l.m.
Training system: spurred and overturned cordon.
Plant density: 2,500-4,000 plants per hectare. Yield per hectare: 70-80 quintals of grapes.
Distillation method: Montepulciano single-variety grappa obtained from 100% Cònero Riserva grapes.
The fresh pomace is immediately ensiled in special containers to avoid contact with the air and acidified to reduce the pH and the methyl alcohol content.
The acidification of the marc is followed by the addition of selected yeasts for the complete performance of the controlled fermentation.
The subsequent distillation takes place in a discontinuous alembic still.
