The DOC San Ginesio recovers and establishes two distinct wine-making traditions of the Marche region: the production of San Gines Red and production of San Ginesio Spumante.
The San Ginesio Spumante is one of the few Italian red sparkling wines DOC and is produced with grapes of the Vernaccia Nera, the vine that more than any other distinguishes us.
The San Ginesio is produced through the harvest of grapes grown in the territory of San Ginesio and surrounding municipalities. The limited area of production, means that the two wines resulting from them are unique and unmistakable.
The grapes used in the proportions set out in the specification, are: the San Ginesio Rosso: Sangiovese, Vernaccia Nera, Cabernet Sauvignon Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Ciliegiolo for San Ginesio Spumante: Vernaccia Nera
