Not a few believe Rosso Piceno Superiore one of the most interesting DOC wines of Central Italy: certainly a wine to taste.

Production area: owned vineyards located in the municipalities of Offida, Ascoli Piceno and Castel di Lama.
Average altitude: 200-300 meters above sea level
Soil type: mainly clayey, tendentially calcareous
Training system: Spurred cordon.
Plant density: 5,000 plants per hectare.
Yield per hectare: about 80 quintals of grapes.
Yield per vine: approximately 1.6 kg of grapes.
Harvest: mid-October. By hand in small boxes.
Vinification: after destemming, the grapes are conveyed into 100 HL fermenters which favor the perfect spraying of the cap during fermentation. This system ensures a greater and more uniform contact between must and skins, increasing the extraction of polyphenols. Maceration times can exceed four weeks, time invested to obtain the best results on the final product. After fermentation the wine is placed in new barriques, where it remains in refinement for about 16 months.
Sensory examination
Ruby with garnet red reflections.
Intense and complex, it expresses notes of red fruits in jam and ample spiciness.
The notes of currant, cherry, black cherry, tobacco, licorice, cinnamon and nutmeg are throbbing. Its persistent, warm and full taste makes it a strong and harmonious wine at the same time.
