La Hoz Rosé is a Classic Method made only with Montepulciano grapes from the Conero area.
First vintage: 2013
Production area: Marche - The vineyards are located in the municipality of Osimo (AN) and face south-east and south-west, on a hill which is approximately 100-150 meters above sea level.
The soil, which dates back to Plio-Pleistocene marine formations, is very deep, silty clay loam, very calcareous.
Yield per hectare: The yield, which is contained through very short pruning and targeted thinning, can vary according to the seasons, from 80 to 90 quintals per hectare.
Harvest: It is done by hand, with the grapes harvested and transported in boxes; process that normally takes place between the end of August and the beginning of September. For each vintage, depending on the climatic trend, the grapes are selected where the right balance between sugar accumulation and acidity level has been maintained. The former must not exceed 15°-16° BABO and the acidity must be around 8-9 gr/lt.
Vinification: After destemming, the grapes undergo a very short cold maceration and then proceed with all the phases of vinification and refinement.
Refinement: In steel on the lees, which continues for 30 months, guarantees the unmistakable scent due to the contact and autolysis of the yeasts. After disgorgement, the sparkling wine rests for another 6 months before being placed on the market. The residual sugar is equal to 2.1 g/lt.
Tasting notes
Brilliant and luminous salmon pink colour.
Complex, intense and well-balanced aromatic profile; the nose reveals notes of yeast, red berried fruits, pomegranate and orange peel. In closing there is a singular background of flint.
From the roots of the past we cultivate the vine of the future.
A story of lives, vines, lands and values. Of seasons that are renewed, of harvests that each year give different and unique fruits, of wines that are born and travel to land on tables all over the world.
