The Rosso Piceno Superiore DOC Clara Marcelli is an organic wine.
The vineyards from which the grapes derive have an exposure towards the east (as regards Montepulciano) and towards the west (as regards Sangiovese).
The soil is composed of a more superficial part in which sand and clay abound and a deeper part with a majority of bioclasts.
The vines are trained using spurred cordon. The average production is around 60 quintals per hectare.
Vinification: The two grapes are vinified separately. Fermentations take place in steel. The Montepulciano is then aged in small barrels, while the Sangiovese in large barrels.
The aging in wood lasts approximately 18 months and is followed by further aging of the wine in the bottle.
Organoleptic characteristics
Ruby red color tending towards garnet,
with intense aromas of dark fruit and purple flowers.
Round body on the palate with smooth tannins. Persistent and harmonious.
