Grapes: 100% Montepulciano

Wine-growing region: Marche, province of Ancona.

Contains sulfites

Location: in Montacuto and Varano within the Natural Park, located on the slopes of the Conero Promontory.
Age: various, from 10 to 30 years.
Soil: the soils derive from calcareous marly rocks interspersed with areas of brown red earth and clay with the presence of stone dating back to the Plio-Pleistocene.
Exposure and altitude: near the sea, but in a position protected from the bora winds from Monte Conero and from the high coasts; altitude of 130-250 m asl
Training system: guyot and double guyot.
Plant density: various from 2,500 to 4,500 plants per ha.
Yield per hectare: 60 q of grapes with pruning system with reduced load of buds per plant, thus allowing to concentrate the accumulation of substances processed in a few clusters per vine.

Vinification: the late harvested grapes are harvested manually, selecting the best bunches, and processed immediately with destemming and soft pressing.

Fermentation: takes place in small concrete tanks with frequent daily pumping over. The maceration on the skins lasts for many days.

Maturation: after racking, the wine ages in barrique and in small French oak barrels for about 18 months, then ages in bottle for at least a year.

Tasting notes
At first glance: the color is an intense and shiny ruby red that fades to purple. Excellent consistency.
On the nose: excellent fruity aromas of black cherry and dried violet satisfy the sense of smell with great finesse. The intensity and persistence are at the maximum strength. Complex notes of spicy and ethereal tertiary aromas are released from the bottom, highlighting an elegant wood.
Taste: round and full-bodied, practically tasty. Excellent noble tannins contrasted by the heat of alcohol, to make the perfect balance. Harmony wraps all its components in a final of great elegance.
Evolution: the evolutionary phase in the bottle is very long. His great strength allows him to live for many years, continuing to amaze you.

Pairings: fine meat dishes from adult cattle: ribs, Florentine steaks and fillets of Marchigiana gentile, Chianina and Angus sublimate themselves with the Park's vineyards. White truffles from Acqualagna and Alba, large aged cheeses such as the Fossa di Talamello and Sogliano complete the list of gastronomic excellences to be granted to this precious Reserve.
