The cellar between the sea and the mountains.
To talk about Sor Rico and what prompted us to produce wine, we must start from the beginning, from a memory that dates back to the early 1900s when our family began producing wine.
Subsequently, in the 1950s, our grandparents bought the land on which our Sor Rico was now born, an agricultural company that we dedicated precisely to our grandfather whom everyone, in the town and in the countryside, called Sor Rico, " Sir Henry".
In 2018, after various vinifications, we built the new cellar, which was born in the Marche hinterland a few kilometers from the sea and about 50 kilometers from the Umbria-Marche Apennines.
It was built below ground level to have a very low impact on our beautiful area. It takes advantage of the natural insulation and constant temperature of the subsoil to keep the temperature stable throughout the year.
The harvest is done by hand, in small red crates, which are then immediately transported to the cellar for immediate processing, this allows the grape not to ferment, thus helping to guarantee the highest quality of the finished product. At this point we just have to let it rest in our steel barrels and barriques.
" stay outdoors, breathe every day that sense of freedom that only life in the fields can give you, savor the slow passing of the seasons and grasp the good that each of these can offer; even if this often involves facing a hard and complex work, which never ensures any certainty, in which being at the mercy of meteorological events is a constant and where, after each good harvest, just as many disappointments could take turns …..”
This was the story of our grandfather, Trento Enrico Bramucci, born in 1915, when he had to motivate us grandchildren what had been his life choice.
And so it was that he founded his own farm in the countryside of the municipality of San Costanzo in the locality of Stacciola, which was strengthened in the early eighties with the planting of the first vineyard of only white grapes for the production of Bianchello del Metauro DOC.
Today it is we, his "nephews" (as he used to call us), who continue his work, even with the planting of new vineyards (2016); albeit with modern equipment and techniques, but with the same passion, the same love and respect for mother earth that our grandfather has been able to pass on to us. We will always be grateful to him for this, and it is for this reason that we want to name our new cellar after him, completed in 2018, a symbol of a hidden desire for innovation but at the same time of the will to continue the path that he himself had undertaken.
The memory of his figure, his indications and his advice remain alive in us; and seems to be by our side when we are intent on the activities of the vineyard, during the harvest season or in the tasks among the barrels full of wine ... ... he, always in the company of our grandmother, with the ever-present wide-brimmed hat lowered in head; him, our grandfather, Mr. Enrico or, as everyone used to greet him when they met him on the street, "Sor Rico".
His grandchildren, Giovanna Massimiliano Francesco Roberta
