Le Busche is one of the most "ancient" whites of Umani Ronchi production.
It was born in 1986 from the vineyard of the same name, as a blend of Chardonnay, Verdicchio and a very small balance of Sauvignon Blanc abandoned at the end of the 1990s.
Today Le Busche presents itself as a Chardonnay of great lineage, elegant, solid, mineral, as our territory knows how to give birth.
Contains sulfites
The vineyard, which was planted in the early 1970s, faces east, about 300 meters above sea level.
The soil is very deep, clayey, with a rather poor fertility, and therefore very suited to the production of quality wines.
The yield is between 60 and 70 quintals per hectare.
The harvest is done by hand, with the grapes harvested and transported in crates. Chardonnay matures between the end of August and the first days of September.
Vinification: After a soft pressing, the free-run must is suddenly cooled and then statically decanted. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in tonneau used for about 10-15 days, in a thermo-conditioned room, and subsequently, 40% of the wine goes through malolactic fermentation. The refinement phase lasts about 6 months during which, by carrying out weekly batonnage, the wine remains in contact with the fermentation yeasts. Le Busche rests for a further 6 months in the bottle.
Notes from the winemaker
Golden yellow in color, with greenish reflections, on the nose it is a real bouquet of wild flowers, daisy and chamomile, intense and ample, on a slightly spicy background of vanilla and exotic fruit.
Soft and velvety entry, important and supple body, with a long and persistent finish on aromatic and mineral tones.
Pairings: Ideal with fish dishes in sauce, white meats and not too seasoned cheeses.
Service glass: Medium-sized glass with spherical tendency, to allow a better perception of complex aromas. The straight opening enhances the wine in the mouth, directing it to the sides and back of the tongue, to then reach the tip and evaluate its softness in an overall way.
From the roots of the past we cultivate the vine of the future.
A story of lives, vines, lands and values. Of seasons that are renewed, of harvests that each year give different and unique fruits, of wines that are born and travel to land on tables all over the world.
