The tastings confirmed the current situation which sees the great vitality of the Castelli di Jesi, the high average quality level of the Matelica area, the growing goodness of the Pecorino del Piceno and the good state of health of Morro d'Alba. We also register a comforting qualitative growth of Ribona, the "marine Verdicchio" widespread in the province of Macerata. Something, but on Lilliputian volumes, is also moving in Serrapetrona.
Further south the winemakers linked to Montepulciano grapes are trying to recover fruit integrity and drinkability, Conero and Piceno are reversing course.
Attention! No one asks to transform Montepulciano into Pinot Noir. We have simply noticed that it is possible to interpret the generous grape with a contemporary sensibility, more in line with current tastes.
We conclude by noting among the positive elements also the rampant use of organic farming and various sustainability projects and "zero residues" in wines and soils, with the hope that all this can contribute to increasing their economic value.
