A place where time has stopped

where you can find the tastes and flavors of tradition, the fruits of the earth that would have been forgotten

A place where time has stopped
Le Spiazzette

Vito, Nanni, Ezio ... and now us, for 150 years the same passion for our land.

We transform and preserve with traditional methods in order to guarantee: quality, taste and respect for the environment.

The Spiazzette are also the place of historical memory.

The name "Le Spiazzette" derives, in fact, from the legend that narrates the descent of the Sibille fairies to dance with the local youth.

They danced in the fields and with their dances formed "the clearings".

The Pink Apple - Slow Food Presidium

The Pink Apple - Slow Food Presidium

The most widespread and traditional biotype is identified in the pre-Apennine area of the Sibillini Mountains. Unmistakable, thanks to its particular flattened and irregular shape, it has a sugary pulp and an intense and aromatic aroma.

The peculiar climatic conditions, first of all the daily and seasonal temperature range, positively interfere with the organoleptic characteristics of the product, making it unique and absolutely different from the fruit grown in the plains.

Cultivation had been almost completely abandoned and only a few years ago the ecotypes preserved in local research centers were reintroduced on the territory. The pink apple harvest runs from the end of August to the end of October, but they can be eaten until the end of the following spring.

The pink apple, the carnelian cherries and the wild blackthorn come back to be known through the jams and compotes that we make by personally picking the fruits of the trees and bushes of the woods that lap the orchards.

The jams are made only with fruit from the farm land and with very simple ingredients.

The "Le Spiazzette" farm is located on the border of the Monti Sibillini National Park, our apple orchards overlook the Sibillini Mountains, a treasure chest made of mythology and nature.

Only the name of the mountain range brings to mind the legend of the Sibyl, a figure present in Greek, Roman and Christian mythology with prophetic abilities.

Discovering the Sibillini Natural Park means living and understanding a nature and a territory characterized by unparalleled originality, the result of a harmonious and millenary relationship between man and the environment that have been able to adapt to each other , in a fragile and delicate evolutionary parallelism.

Visiting the small inhabited centers is an unforgettable opportunity to fully relive the charm of the past, to discover the treasures of man, so wisely set in nature, to gain an experience that, even from a cultural point of view, will really be vivifying and unforgettable for every visitor.
