Cantina Benforte was born from the passion for the territory, from the peasant tradition and from the inspiration of Giuliana Campolucci who decided to convert a small part of the family vineyards to produce high quality Verdicchio Classico dei Castelli di Jesi.
It was in the production area of the Benforte company that the writer Italo Calvino collected a folk tale entitled “Giuannì Benforte”.
The story tells the eternal theme of the victory of cunning against brute force: the victory of the little one against the bully.

The vineyards are located in the municipality of San Paolo di Jesi, a small castle strongly linked to the production of Verdicchio wine, dominating the valley to the right of the Esino river from its 224 meters above sea level.
