Area: Ripatransone, Contrada Piaggiole and Contrada Canali
Mixed loose soil with limestone from 280 to 400 m. altitude
Cultivation: 5000 spurred cordon vines - Grape yield/hectare: approximately 40 quintals
Vinification: maceration from 6 to 9 days in 60 hl oak vats
Aging: malolactic and aging in new barriques from 30 to 36 months. Minimum 10 months in bottle
Organoleptic notes
A very concentrated dark red, it looks like ink, lit up by vermilion flashes;
A superb nose, rich in morello and blackberry jam, coffee, bitter chocolate and balsamic and mineral notes;
Significant but warm and velvety tannins, persistence in the mouth of spices and dark fruit.
To be paired with important meats, game and mature cheeses.
Winemakers for four generations.
