Terre di mare the latest creation in Tenuta, a young red wine, a blend of Sangiovese and Vernaccia Nera, in which we do not use either drying or maturation in wood. The Sangiovese recalls the sip and softens the Vernaccia Nera which expresses the crunchy fruit with its characterizing tannin, present but not at all bitter. A fresh wine, born from vineyards facing the sea, to be uncorked on warm summer evenings.
Contains sulphites
Vineyard: Cognoli, Croce
Training system: Spurred cordon, simple Guyot
Harvest: manual, first ten days of September
Vinification: destemming-crushing of the grapes, fermentation in steel tanks with indigenous yeasts
Maturation and refinement: 3 months in steel
Organoleptic characteristics
Purple red color, lively and captivating.
Nose linked to red fruit and spices, faithful to the vines used.
The pleasant freshness and vibrant tannins, typical of young wines, encourage drinking and make it pleasantly paired with food.
Pairing: ideal with both land cuisine, from cured meats to meat-based first courses, and with seafood such as grilled octopus or with potatoes, sardines a scottadito, impepata di Moscioli (mussels) di Portonovo, stockfish or fish soups
Serving: 12 - 16 °C depending on food pairings. Serve cooler with seafood
The goal is to carry on with firm conviction the work of enhancing the indigenous grape variety, Vernaccia Nera and to preserve its traditional drying, still carried out in a natural way today.
The local winemaking methods have been combined with the experience of external technicians, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, aimed at a style of agriculture that is attentive and responsible towards the environment, collaborators and the local community.
