Montefalco Rosso DOC is a well-crafted wine that can be aged for several years.
The presence of sediment at the bottom of the bottle is natural. Contains sulfites.
In the ancient tradition of the Montefalco area, after selecting the grapes for the production of Montefalco Sagrantino,
all the other red varieties were harvested to create a fresher, more easily paired wine.
Scacciadiavoli draws on this tradition and refines it by adding that touch that makes this wine even more sweet.
HARVEST: From mid-September to mid-October
VINIFICATION: In stainless steel tanks
AGEING: In second-wine barriques and large French oak truncated-cone vats for at least 6 months
COLOR: Intense ruby red with slight garnet hues
NOSE: Ample, elegant, fine, persistent, fruity with spicy notes. Hints of undergrowth and small red berries
TASTE: Good structure, soft, full-bodied. Well-balanced acidity and tannins. Persistent fruity aftertaste.
PAIRINGS: It pairs well with first courses in general, and with white and red meats.
“Fortezza” futuristica
Solida ed imponente come poche, la struttura appare quasi una fortezza, in parte interrata: nel retro, il dislivello del terreno permette a uve, uomini e mezzi di arrivare direttamente all’ultimo piano: qui avviene la vinificazione, che sfruttando la gravità, permette il passaggio naturale dei vini ai livelli inferiori, sede dell’affinamento.
