The Barolo DOCG Vigna Rionda Riserva, produced with Nebbiolo grapes from our vineyard located in the Me.G.A. "Vigna Rionda" in Serralunga d'Alba, is the wine we are most proud of. Simply put, Serralunga Barolo at the peak of its potential.
It is one of the most sought-after and prestigious Crus in our area. It's not just about the microclimate and soil: something happens on that hill, and that something gives life to a truly unique wine. Southern exposure and calcareous-clay soils lend elegance and structure.
Traditional vinification enhances the qualities of this Cru, respecting its natural predisposition for long aging while simultaneously emphasizing the elegance and depth that only this vineyard can provide.
Traditional Barolo with long fermentation and maceration in oak vats at a temperature of around 30°C; Aged in large Slavonian oak barrels for up to 42 months, followed by a further 24 months in the bottle.
A wine of great depth, with complex aromas of red fruits, spices, and balsamic notes, it is perfect for long aging.
Appearance: Deep garnet red.
Nose: Reveals multiple, broad, and enveloping sensations, ranging from those of the early years, more red fruits and flowers, to the more evolved notes of undergrowth, tobacco, and spices that emerge with aging.
It is a harmony of fascinating nuances that unfold and slowly evolve in the glass.
Vigna Rionda is a unique Barolo; its description is impossible to contain in just a few lines, and it is difficult to compare with others, even in the Serralunga area.
It is a wine capable of complexity, longevity, and structure, blended into an unparalleled elegance. It requires a bit of patience to express itself at its best, which is why it is the only one in our range that leaves the cellar after its sixth year of aging as a Riserva.
It is recommended to decant it and enjoy it at a temperature of 18-20°C.
A constantly evolving wine, it is excellent paired with meat-based dishes, rich in intense and persistent aromas and flavors, with aged cheeses, or as a meditation wine, for those who want to enjoy it while relaxing and appreciating all its many qualities in their purest form and with the necessary calm.
Ideal with braised meats, game, white truffles, and aged cheeses, to which it offers a unique sensory experience.
Recommended Glass: A wide, long-stemmed glass.
