The Massolino Barolo DOCG Classico is the culmination of our hills and grapes from various vineyards, a tribute to the traditional winemaking method of the past.
It represents the synthesis of the different characteristics each terroir offers. Soil type: medium-textured, tending towards limestone.
We have always favored traditional aging in large Slavonian oak barrels to maintain a more authentic and pure identity.
A broad and variable array of aromas, a surprising evolution of expression over time.
Vinification and aging: Traditional Barolo with long-term fermentation and maceration in oak vats at temperatures around 30°C; aging takes place in large Slavonian oak barrels for up to 30 months.
This is followed by bottle aging in special, cool, dark cellars.
The Barolo DOCG Classico plays a key role; this wine represents a truly exceptional bottle!
Appearance: Garnet red with varying intensity depending on the vintage.
Nose: The grapes come from various vineyards, and for this reason, they impart a very broad array of aromas, from captivating spicy notes to sweeter, floral, and fruity ones.
On the palate: A wide range of sensations, this is a full-bodied, classic, and well-structured wine that ages well and perfectly represents the significant character of our lands.
It is best paired with red meats, especially game and venison, and with truffle-based dishes.
It is also excellent with egg pasta dishes with meat sauces and risottos, as well as with medium-aged cow's and goat's cheeses.
