Balciana Sartarelli Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi DOC Classico Superiore
Contains sulphites
Soil: Medium calcareous mix - Altitude: 300-350 m above sea level - Exposure: North-East
Training system: Simple Guyot -
The wine is made from grapes from the vineyard planted in Contrada Balciana.
The low production per vine and the different grape harvest times strongly characterize this product of nature.
The harvest period varies according to the trend of each year, but usually goes from the beginning of November until the middle of the same month. Extreme care during the harvest phase (small crates), so as not to damage the bunches that have reached this level of ripeness.
Winery production: normal cellar techniques (with the exclusive use of steel tanks), careful not to ruin all the work previously done.
After a prolonged refinement in the bottle, the wine acquires taste sensations of incomparable finesse.
Tasting notes
You fall in love with this wine just by looking at it: with a bright color to the eye, it dresses in shiny gold.
Broad on the nose, of ripe fruit, even tropical, between sweet notes of honey, lime as well as spicy and citrus notes, licorice root and almonds.
It is wonderfully harmonious in the drink and with a great alcoholic structure mitigated by savory strength and freshness. A characteristic that makes it even more unique is its long taste-olfactory persistence with an iodized finish. Simply a persuasive and extremely fascinating wine.
It is ideal as an accompaniment to stockfish all'anconetana (a regional specialty) and baked cod, indeed an exuberant and unforgettable combination; also with smoked fish and sardines a beccafico. Excellent with foie gras or paté de foie gras, roast goose and duck, turkey, as well as perfect with cheeses even of good maturation. It can also be a wine to end a meal accompanied by a pleasant conversation.
From harvest in the fields to winemaking in the cellar.
"An excellent product is achieved through respect for the raw materials and the care taken in processing them. And respect and care are the values on which the Sartarelli philosophy is based."
