Titillo Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore DOC Organic from the Colle Jano winery in the Marche region.
Allergens: Contains sulfites
A 100% Verdicchio, the result of a blend of two different vineyards, one planted in 1967 and another more recent one planted in 2017.
The choice to blend the oldest grapes was made to give greater depth to the wine, with a very interesting result.
The parcels are both located mid-hill at an altitude of approximately 250 meters above sea level.
The soils are sedimentary from marine recession with sandy soils of calcareous marl, hence the wine's distinctly mineral character.
The yields are low, around 4.5 tons/ha, to maintain good structure and concentration.
Vinification: Spontaneous fermentation and aging in stainless steel.
Tasting Notes
The wine is easy to drink, with notes of ripe, crisp yellow fruit.
On the palate it is agile, decisive, fresh, with great minerality, with floral and dried fruit notes on the finish.
Symbol of a counter-current choice
In the Marche region, two young producers have decided to reclaim a small but precious winemaking heritage, promoting ancient Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi vines.
