Alfred Gratien AOC Brut Classique Champagne Magnum in a Wooden Case
The Brut Classique from Alfred Gratien is the house's flagship cuvée.
It is a champagne that combines fruity notes, delicious aromas from wood aging, and a touch of freshness. The Brut Classique is a blend dominated by Chardonnay (46%), offering lightness and freshness, while Pinot Meunier (30%) contributes its fruity presence. Pinot Noir completes this blend and provides a beautiful structure.
This cuvée is vinified and aged in small 228-liter oak barrels.
Malolactic fermentation is omitted to preserve freshness and maximize shelf life.
The Brut dosage is around 9 g/l.
It displays a light yellow color dotted with fine, lively bubbles.
The nose reveals complex notes of biscuits, pastries, and white fruit, which then evolve into aromas of citrus, white flowers, and fresh butter.
On the palate, the Brut Classique offers a frank attack, followed by chalky and mineral notes, with a lovely lightness. The finish is clean, with a lovely length.
It is an ideal cuvée for an aperitif, especially with small savory or sweet appetizers.
