These Grand Crus have long been recognized as climatic subzones particularly suited to producing wines with outstanding organoleptic qualities and aristocratic structure.
The different soil characteristics, and particularly the different subsoil composition in the various subzones, give rise to wines that vary from vineyard to vineyard.
The microclimate and excellent vineyard exposures (southeast and southwest) create favorable conditions for grape ripening and impart a biochemical value to the grapes that determine the exceptional organoleptic qualities of the resulting wines.
