🏷️ Slow Food Presidium – Traditional dessert from the Marche ©️
In the Marche countryside, fig cultivation was once a widespread and precious tradition. Farmers, careful not to waste anything, devised ingenious methods to preserve the fruit longer.
This ancient recipe is made with local sun-dried figs, finely ground and mixed with walnuts, almonds, and anise seeds. The mixture is then flavored with Mistrà (a traditional aniseed liqueur), wrapped in fig leaves, and hand-tied with wool, just like in the olden days.
👉 Unlike industrial desserts, Lonzino di Fico is natural, preservative-free, and produced using artisanal methods, respecting the seasonality and biodiversity of the Marche region.
🧀 Recommended pairings: Thanks to its unique, aromatic, and slightly spicy flavor, it's perfect served with aged or blue cheeses, or as an alternative dessert, accompanied by a dessert wine or sweet liqueur.
Weighing 300g, this product is ideal for sharing during a special dinner, a convivial occasion, or simply to savor an authentic piece of our tradition.
