a heavy weight in the small DOC Verdicchio di Matelica
The Azienda Agricola Bisci is the result of the passion for the territory and their land of the brothers Giuseppe and Pierino Bisci who in 1972 bought a property of about 25 hectares and transformed it over the years into the reference company in the production of Verdicchio di Matelica.
Today Mauro and Tito, sons of Giuseppe, have taken over the reins.
The winery, located in the center of the vineyards, was built in 1980 by partly adapting old cottages and partly by constructing special buildings. The cultivation of the vine is linked to high quality principles following the Organic method: sulfur and copper are the products used and the grassing technique is practiced between the rows.
“Bisci is a heavyweight in the small DOC Verdicchio di Matelica.
Here size and quality go hand in hand, and Verdicchio di Bisci are among the best in the Marche region.
I especially like the fact that they are very faithful to the Matelica terroir: with important acidity and refined, with a dry quality similar to Riesling. " Ian D'Agata
The property is located between the provinces of Macerata and Ancona, has an area of about 25 hectares, of which about 18 hectares are planted with Verdicchio and just over 2 hectares with Sangiovese and Merlot.
The vineyard is located on a hill at an altitude varying between 320 and 370 meters above sea level, on a slight slope and with a prevalent southern exposure.
