EGOS wine produced from organic Merlot grapes from vineyards cultivated on the hills around Matelica where the favorable climatic conditions favor an optimal aromatic and polyphenolic ripening of the bunches in perfect sanitary conditions.
Then at the harvest, the hand selection of the best bunches and the careful vinification allows to enhance the fruity and slightly spicy aromas typical of this vine.
It is characterized by a soft, balanced taste, with good structure and sapidity and with a pleasant fruity finish.
Organic red wine, fruity and fragrant - Contains sulphites
Area of origin: Hills of Matelica (MC) - 250 - 350 m asl
Soil: Loose and of medium texture.
Yield per hectare: 110-120 quintals
Processing: Grapes harvested at right ripeness, polyphenolic and aromatic, destemming and soft pressing, fermentation with maceration for 7 - 10 days on the skins with periodic pumping over, racking and malolactic fermentation with the use of selected lactic bacteria.
Aging: 100% in concrete tanks for 4 months, 2 months in the bottle.
Organoleptic examination
Brilliant ruby red with purple reflections.
Full and persistent with hints of violet, black cherry, plum, blueberry and currant.
Soft, balanced and well structured with an elegant finish that enhances its drinkability.
Pairing: Red meats, grilled fish, and well-aged cheeses.
The result of a millenary winemaking vocation in the area with Piceno origins, the oldest in the upper Vallesina.
